Taking sunset photos was one of the highlights of my 6 day photo safari in Australia’s Top End.
We have been very fortunate to shoot many sunset photos around the world at places like Zanzibar, Thailand, Western Australia and on a cruise in Mexico.
But I had never been to Australia’s Northern Territory before, and as someone who has intermediate photography skills, it was awesome to have the help of Canon’s newest DSLR, the EOS 650D.
There is nothing like taking in a sunset at the end of a days travel, or at the end of any day for that matter. I love the way it can transform your mood and it’s a time for reflection.

Mindil Beach Sunset Markets, Darwin
These markets, run every Thursday and Sunday, are a Darwin institution. Besides the countless amounts of food stalls and arts and crafts available, the highlight is its location right on the ocean and the setting of the sun.
I don’t think I have ever seen so many people flock to a beach to take sunset photos.

Kakadu National Park
Not only did I get to experience the setting of the sun inside the World Heritage Listed Kakadu National Park, but a great bonus was witnessing the rising of the sun.

The Ubirr region inside Kakadu National Park is famous for its rock art, and as a place to take amazing sunset photos.

Yellow Water Cruise
The Yellow Water is a network of billabongs linked by channels containing an impressive variety of wildlife. Equally impressive is the early morning sunrise as you begin your cruise.
